Copenhagen, Denmark - February 2009

Sorry these posts are so short, but I want to get caught up and frankly some of it I can't even remember.
Tivoli Gardens Amusement Park

Carlsberg Brewery
The famous Little Mermaid statue

Barcelona, Spain - January 2009

Sorry but I can't remember what any of these places are. But here's some sights around Barcelona.....

Christopher Columbus statue at day and night.
The Church that has never been finished.
The last day I took a day trip to Montserrat to see the Monastery. We had to take a cable car up the mountain.

Salzburg, Austria.....again

I happen to love Salzburg, so I took a 3rd trip there in October 2008. I tried not to double any pictures from my previous post of Salzburg (from November 2007 in case you want to go back and look). Here are some general city pictures.
Salzburg Cathedral
We took some day trips to Bavaria, and this is a city square somewhere in the Bavaria area.
Below is Hitler's Eagle's Nest.
We also went to ice caves. We had to walk uphill for like 3 days, then take a funicular further up, then walk another 3 days. And then we had to walk this route just to get to those caves there. Once up there we got to walk 700 steps up and 700 steps back down in the ice caves. Every 5th person had to hold a flame lit lantern for light, and it was like below freezing temperatures. Multiply the ice pictures below by 10 million and that is about what it looked like inside the caves. This was a great idea!!!

John (one of my traveling companions) would kill me if I didn't include these photos. This was a great little beer haus that we found (and ate there twice!). He was amazed that they had these closets where people could keep their own steins to use when they came. This closet was even behind lock and key!! We got one of the people to open it for us so we could take a picture.

China in September 2008

As most of you know I went to China in September 2008 for a very special reason. A reason I won't talk about on the blog. It was an amazing experience and it was great to see China - which I never thought I would get to see. Enjoy!

We were there right after the Olympics, so it was still semi-decorated. The 2nd photo is the infamous bird's nest where the opening/closing ceremonies and things took place.

Tiananmen Square

The Forbidden City

The Great Wall of China
The Stone Forest in Kunming

Even China has a Wal-Mart!

A boat made completely of marble! Don't ask me how it floats! For that matter, don't ask me how any boat floats!
An Academy of some sort.
